The Fuente del Sol is located on the eastern outskirts of El Viso, on the slope of the Tablada, next to a mulberry tree that gave shelter to the many people who passed by.
The trough pillar, about twelve meters long, collects water from a single pipe, now unfortunately clogged. Recently, it has been restored, but apparently not with much success, as it is in a terrible state of conservation. This pillar, located in an area of passage and facing the Vega, has been used primarily to quench the thirst of the beasts.
Located specifically in the northeastern slope of the Tablada, we are in front of a source of probable pre-Roman origin, associated to the city of the Tablada. It must have been used in the Roman period, being appreciated in its interior and surroundings bricks, tegulae and other Roman constructive elements.
This ancient fountain is related to the pre-Roman cults of the inhabitants of Tablá, as well as those of the Roman period (votive offerings have been found in this place).

The Fountain is fed by a Roman mine, which runs under the current fairgrounds, and whose first galleries have been explored by the Andalusian Association of Underground Explorations. The first part of the gallery shows a channeling made in sections with bricks and in sections with tegulas, among the rubble there are pieces that seem to belong to the channeling and all of them are framed in a context of Roman times.
