Route of the stately manor houses

The architecture of the emblematic streets of Vizcaya is characterized by imposing buildings of great historical and artistic value built between the eighteenth and twentieth centuries.

This Route of the Casas-Palacio Señoriales proposes a successive route through the streets Real (street that monopolized the political and economic power of the town), Pintor Juan Roldán (dedicated to who was Favorite Son of El Viso del Alcor), the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, Convent and ends in the Calle Albaicín or Albaysín; toponym of Muslim root that means street in slope and communicated in its beginnings with the Huerta Abajo.

Cofrade cultural route through El Viso del Alcor

Its route alternates points related to the visueñas brotherhoods and emblematic places of the municipality, such as: the Plaza de la Recovera, which pays homage to the women visueñas; the Calle Real, beautiful entrance road to the old town with huge stately homes (XVIII-XX centuries); the Chapel of the Veracruz and the Rosary in the central Calle Rosario; the Casa Hermandad de Nuestro Santísimo Cristo de Vera-Cruz y María Santísima del Rosario in Hondilla Street; the Plaza del antiguo Ayuntamiento; the Convento Mercedario Descalzo del Corpus Christi (today a Cultural Center) and its Conventual Chapel, both from the XVII century; the Plaza Sacristán Guerrero and the Iglesia Parroquial de Sta.

María del Alcor (Venetian-influenced canvases and beautiful devotional images); and a visit to the Casa Hermandad del Cristo del Amor and the Virgen de los Dolores, in nearby Calle Horno.
